Taste bud alert! Jam-packed with all your favorite strawberry indulgences, the 30th Annual California Strawberry Festival serves up homegrown goodness and good times with proceeds benefiting charities.
Amid 15 acres, enjoy yummy berry delights like strawberry pizza, deep fried strawberries, strawberry nachos, strawberry margaritas and even strawberry beer from 50+ food booths. The Strawberry Festival also has concerts on two stages, 250+ Arts & Crafts booths, gooey contests, Navy Seals Underwater Dive Tank, and more.
Things get “buggy” for the more adventurous palate when celebrity chef Bricia Lopez of the acclaimed Guelaguetza Restaurant shares her secret recipe for a savory strawberry spring salad with grasshoppers (aka: chapulines) during a culinary demonstration in the Strawberry Promenade. Kids with an appetite for fun will enjoy an interactive hand’s on experience with “make & take” edible strawberry art. And, the Berry Blast Off Recipe Contest “Strawberry Smackdown” finds two finalists competing against the clock in a head-to-head challenge to prepare the ultimate strawberry dish worthy of a grand prize cruise vacation.
Strawberryland For Kids offers an oasis for children with free rides and attractions, including the Jest in Time Family Fun Stage with ongoing puppet shows, magicians and performers. Soaring above the food court area, the new Zip Line promises to be a popular activity for all ages. Gooey, in-your-face fun, gets underway in the contest area with the Tart Toss, Pie Eating Contest and Strawberry Relay. From Latin funk, big band and jazz, to Country, Elvis, classic rock, Beatles tribute and more, two stages are alive with concerts to quench a variety of musical tastes. The Berry Best Strawberry Hat Contest, Berry Best Dressed Baby Contest, and Berry Best Dance Contest encourage fan participation.
