The Mission Inn’s Festival of Lights kicked off with a magnificent firework display to the delight of 250,000+ fans from all over Southern California (and beyond!)
Riversides 21st “Festival of Lights” is one of Mission Inn Hotel & Spa owner Duane Roberts proudest achievements. It ‘s the look of pure joy on the faces of both children AND adults that make the Roberts family the happiest, providing an experience that was created by some of the same people behind Disneyland’s spectacular light shows, specifically (but not exclusively) for the families in the Inland Empire. With 4 million lights, The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa sees their monthly electric bill goes up by $50,000, but they grin and shrug it off. “What’s good for The Mission Inn is good for Riverside,” Duane remarked.
Come on down for a skate around the ice rink, see the reindeer, shop at the many Holiday Boutiques, grab something to eat at one of their many fine dining establishments or try the carnival-style street food, and….of course, Santa Claus. (And we’re talking the GOOD Santa Claus, not a weird one). For the kids-Cinderella has also been known to make appearances, and for the adults- how does a romantic carriage ride around the beautiful Mission Inn and surrounding areas sound?
If you haven’t seen it, its definitely worth it, and if you have…well, I’m sure you’re already planning your trip back! To see this amazing creation, drop by The Mission Inn nightly until early January. For more information, check out www.festivaloflightsca.com.
